
On the west coast, we have a season that's called "pre-spring". It's between winter and spring, of course... and we tend to have sun shine, cold breezes... and snowdrops, followed by daffodils and tulips. Every year they do a blossom count in February. And the little rufus hummingbird returns, in his fiery red jacket, in March. So the daffodils fill me with delighted anticipation.
